Meet the Coaches
Michael Horn (Junior Convener)
Michael has been involved with the Club Golf Junior coaching program since its inception in 2003. Michael's unique golfing style will ensure that Torrance House produces some of the most individual swings on the junior scene to date.
Ian J D Welsh (Head Coach)
Ian has been coaching junior golf at Torrance House Golf Club since 1997. Ian has coached a regular summer coaching program with some success; in fact both East Kilbride Golf Club and Torrance House Golf Club's current Professionals started their golfing journey bashing golf balls on the practice area under Ian's guidance.
Grace Jardine
Grace is a well established golfer, having played competitive golf for more years than she would care to remember. Grace has won many trophies over the years and her experience in tournament golf will be invaluable to the Academy juniors.
Margaret McKerlie (Secretary)
Margaret is the reason we are all here. It was through Margaret's inspiration and tireless work that Torrance House got involved in the Scottish Executives Clubgolf scheme in the first place. Margaret is an accomplished golfer and has played in just about every tournament available to her. (With a fair bit of success).
David McLaren
David is a 3 handicap golfer who has come through the junior ranks at Torrance House. David (despite his youthful appearance) is one of our longest serving coaches. David's powerful swing is defiantly one to emulate.
