From the Pulpit 20 August 2017

Categories: Intimations

Your Weekly Intimations Many thanks to Rev John Brewster for covering parish duties during my holiday period and to Rev Lusk for pulpit supply on 6th August. A very big thank you to Mark Williams for leading worship on the other two Sundays and to those who stepped in to lead Wednesday morning prayer time. After the excitement of having different personalities in the pulpit we can all settle down again to the mundane offerings of the Minister!

Teas and Coffees are available after the service today within the Duncanrig Hall

Let me remind you of the bowling match between Red Deer and Westwood Church on Saturday 26th August. The social activity of the match was played out in May all that remains is to find out who will be victorious on the green. Tea and sandwiches will be served after the match at a very reasonable cost of £3.

Ways ‘n’ Means are preparing for a Silent Auction on Saturday 9th September from 10 to 12. Tea and coffee will be available. Any items you wish to donate can be left in the hall of fellowship or can be uplifted if you contact Raymond or Maureen Thomson.

There will be a Ways ‘n’ Means committee meeting on Monday 28th of August at 7:30.

Kilbryde Hospice host a Strawberry Tea tomorrow Monday 21st August from 1pm to 3pm. All are welcome. The event is held within the Hospice building.

The Ladies Fellowship hold their opening night tomorrow night Monday 21st at 7.30pm. The meeting is in the form of a quiz night and all are welcome.

Looking slightly more to the future ourselves and Our Lady of Lourdes hope to arrange a pilgrimage to Inchcolm Island for Wednesday 27th September. As we no longer have government funding we anticipate the cost of the pilgrimage would be around £20 inclusive of coach, ferry and fish tea. If you are interested please add your name to the list int eh Hall of Fellowship

Next Sunday we should have a new issue of the Monthly Intimation sheet available covering events in September. I would be glad to receive any information about meetings, dates and times that should be in print.
