Postponed from last Sunday but taking place today is the prayer service for Christian Unity at 4pm in St. Brides Church. Sadly Westwood Church will not now be participating in that service but I hope that you will still consider attending.

After the service today the Ladies Fellowship host a lunch in support of Christian Aid. All are welcome. All funds raised through the lunch will naturally be gifted to Christian Aid. In that respect we also encourage those who have used a Christian Aid collection box to return them to the church at the earliest opportunity.

The Kirk Session meets on Monday 29th Jan at 7.30pm. An agenda is available in dookits

St. Vincent De Paul Church extends an invitation to senior parishioners of our church to enjoy High Tea and the radio play “Sunset Boulevard” On Sunday 25 February at The Arts Centre in the village, High Tea at 4.30 pm the show starts at 5 pm. SVDP are offering 8 seats at one of these tables to senior parishioners of Westwood Parish Church – thinking perhaps on those who do not get out regularly. Westwood Church would need to provide or arrange transport.

Please enter names on the sign up sheet provided in the Hall of Fellowship

If you contribute to the church magazine now is a good time to get the thinking cap on and prepare your piece for the next issue. Submission should be made as soon as possible.

This incoming week has provided the opportunity for a short break. Rev John Brewster will be looking after the parish while next Sunday 4th Feb Mrs Lynette Jardine will be taking the service. I’ll be back on duty on Monday 5th Feb and will still be moderating the Kirk Session tomorrow evening.

We extend a welcome and a word of thanks to Mr Fraser Cooper who will be playing for our morning services over the next four weeks. We are indebted to our friends at Our Lady of Lourdes for helping us in the process of finding an organist.
