Many thanks to all who supported Meaghan’s sponsorship appeal last Sunday.  Not only will the Princess Trust benefit from your kindness but it is good for our youngest church members to know that they are a very real part of the life of our church and supported in that way.

Let me return then to my own sponsored event to help raise funds to replace the cooker in the church kitchen.  I’m proposing to do a sponsored walk across Whitelee Windfarm along with man’s best friend, my wee dog Jet.  It’s about 10 miles from Strathaven at the Ardochrig entrance over to the Eaglesham Visitor centre following the spine road.  I’m happy to have company and fellow fundraisers on the walk especially if you have a good sense of direction!  (Mark Williams) The proposed date is Sunday 2ndSeptember from 2pm but may change depending on weather conditions.

This coming Thursday 16thAugust from 6.30pm we hope to do a big clean up around our halls, kitchen, toilet and storage facilities so that they are ready for the autumn session.  If you are willing to roll your sleeves up and get tore in then please add your name to the volunteers list in the hall of fellowship.  In an attempt to be efficient there are separate lists for each area.

On Friday 31stAugust the monthly Kilbride Hospice Quiz is being held in our Church halls. Entry is £4 per person. Teams are most welcome.  You should bring along your own snacks and refreshments for the evening.  All proceeds go to Kilbryde Hospice.  I also hear news that for the first time inpatients will be received at Kilbryde Hospice within the next week.

Just three Wednesday remain for the Summer Evening Café.  We have again enjoyed the company of church folk from Greenhills, Mossneuk and Westwood Baptist.  We soon discover that we have much in common and conversations have been most encouraging.
