We welcome Rev Dr. John McPake to the pulpit today as our own minister pays a visit to Bonkle Church.  We look forward to sharing the Lord’s table with him.

Tea ‘n Toast has resumed on Wednesday mornings from 10.30am.  All are welcome to come along and catch up with friends.

Mark, Stephen and Rev Kev along with Jet and “Shug the dug” completed their 10 mile and more hike across Whitelee windfarm last Sunday afternoon.  Many who offered sponsorship have already handed in their contribution.  Outstanding sponsorship can be returned to Mark Williams today.

SoundRoutes Singers resume their weekly rehearsals in our church on Monday 17thSeptember from 8pm.  This is a change of date from that previously intimated.  They welcome new members whatever their singing ability might be.

Ways & Means Committee are arranging for a Nearly New Clothing and Shoe sale on Saturday 6thOctober.  We are glad of your donations of any nearly new items, which can be brought into the church at any time.

The Kirk Session meets on Monday 10thSep at 7.30pm.

We gather again for a celebration of the Lord’s Supper on Wednesday 12thSeptember at 7pm

St. Columba’s Lutheran Church on Westwoodhill are holding a Bring & Buy sale on Saturday 15thSeptember 11am to 1pm to help raise funds for their roof repairs. If you wish to pop in to their event you’ll be made very welcome.  If you have items of your own to sell then a table top can be hired for £5.

Kirk Lunches resume on Tuesday 18thSeptember at 11.30am.  If it’s not already in your diary then now’s the time to mark it in.

Leisure Club also resume on Tuesday 18that 2pm with a musical afternoon with Harvey Littlejohn.

The South Parish Church, from which Westwood was established, is hosting a 60thanniversary concert with music group Octave on Saturday 29thSeptember at 7.30pm.  If you wish to attend tickets at £10 can be purchased in advance.  Posters around the church will give you more information.

Happy Days Out of School Care are currently seeking an escort to help pick up children from school Monday to Friday.  This is paid employment at just one hour a day, five hours a week, between 2.30pm & 3.30pm.  Enquiries can be made by email.  Happy Days are looking to appoint someone urgently. More details are available on the church website.

After a very successful service on Monday night at Our Lady of Lourdes we are able to bring some early news of our next shared event.  In late October we are planning a pilgrimage day to Dryburgh Abbey. We can bring you more details later but you may want to keep Tuesday 23rdOctober free in your diary.
