Many thanks to all who contributed to this year’s Shoe Box Appeal.  Lachlan informs me that 59 completed shoe boxes have been sent along with £216.00 in donations.

The new Christian Aid year begins in Advent, Sunday 2ndDecember.  The familiar Christmas Appeal boxes will be available in the Hall of Fellowship.

Next Sunday 25thNovember is Christ the King Sunday, which marks the end of the Christian calendar.

Elders will find in dookits church magazines, Christmas Fete flyers and communion cards in readiness for their upcoming district visits.

Our church’s Christmas Fete takes place on Saturday 1stDecember doors open to the public at 12noon.

A sincere thanks to all here in Westwood who contributed in any way to our marking of Remembrance last Sunday 11thNovember.  Many found it to be a moving service that touched chords with family they lost during those conflicts.  It is reassuring that in a time when religion seems to be less meaningful we can still create a deeply meaningful moment together in church.

This afternoon at 3pm Greenhills Church is hosting an inter-faith gathering.  Rev Brewster has prepared an introductory letter copies of which are available in the Hall of Fellowship.  If you feel inclined to attend you will be made most welcome.

Elders are reminded of the short meeting after the service today to progress replacement of the church cooker.

Many will recall our church’s involvement through Duncanrig School with the Luwero Community Project in Uganda.  We have enjoyed several visits from Duncanrig pupils retelling their experiences of their time at Luwero as well as raising funds through Easter Festival to help with the building of a new church at the community.  The opportunity has arisen for interested members of Westwood Church to be part of the trip to Luwero in October 2019.  If you would like to be part of that experience more information is available from Linda Nally.
