Remembrance Poppies

It is already well publicised that 2018 is one hundred years since the end of the First World War.  Special events are taking place up and down the country to mark the end of the First War.

Today in the Hall of Fellowship you can participate in one, either, both or neither of our Christmas projects of “A Christmas Card for All” with donations going to Loaves and Fishes and / Or a “Remembering Bauble for the Tree” with donations going to Christian Aid.

Today is Christ the King Sunday, which marks the end of the Christian calendar. Our church’s Christmas Fete takes place on Saturday 1stDecember, that’s this coming Saturday,  doors open to the public at 12noon.  The church halls will be open to receive donations of goods on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday evenings of this coming week.

In order to complete a Season of Remembrance for the end of WW1 a short prayer service will be held in our church at 6.30pm, which will conclude at 7pm with Last Post, Reveille and the ringing of our church bells.

The Minister is starting a short break after the services today and will return to duties on Monday 29thOctober.  Rev Stewart Smith will be with you next Sunday 28thOctober and Rev John Brewster will be looking after the parish.
